Stellar Diagnosis and Stellar Healing.
Part X. Diagnosis and Treatment; Gonorrhea to Measles.
by C.C. Zain
Gonorrhea.Birth-chart Constant: Venus and Mars afflicted, or one of them very severely afflicted and the other prominent.
Progressed Constant: A progressed afflictions to Venus or Mars
Stellar Treatment: The Mars discords in the stellar structure not only attract the infection but reduce the intercortin supply which has the duty of combating all kinds of invasion. Strain and overwork tend to increase the ease with which this disease becomes virulent, through reducing the adrenalin and intercortin supply.
Furthermore, there is always a discord from the stellar structure mapped by Venus, which, with the Mars discord, creates an imbalance in the secretion of the gonads. The entire system depends in great measure for vigor and energy upon this secretion.
The diet should be that recommended for afflictions to Venus and Mars (lesson No. 225), and the mode of life, in every way, should be such as to build up a vigorous power of resistance through giving strength to the gonad secretion and the adrenalin and intercortin secretions. Internal cleanliness is to be stressed, and the use of proper antiseptics.
The Venus stellar structures should be given planetary energies of both Saturn and the Sun. Lunar planetary energies should be applied to the Mars stellar structure, and Lunar etheric energies should be applied abundantly to the infected region.
Rich foods should be carefully avoided, and through the use of fruit juices and other foods containing mineral salts, the blood should be kept with a slightly alkaline reaction. There should be exercise enough to help elimination and build vitality, but over-exertion and strain should be carefully avoided. The proper diet is unusually important in overcoming this disease.

Hay-Fever.Birth-chart Constant: Mercury afflicted by an upper-octave planet; or upper-octave planets prominent and Mercury severely afflicted.
Progressed Constant: An aspect to Mercury, especially an affliction.
Stellar Treatment: The affliction to Mercury and prominent upper-octave planets upset the chemical balance through reducing the ability of the parathyroid glands to handle calcium. This sensitiveness not only affects the nerves, but also the mucas membranes.
This causes them to be unduly irritated by certain proteins, such as the pollen from specific weeds and flowers, or to become unduly sensitive to certain atmospheric conditions, or to become unduly sensitive to certain types of food taken into the system. Hay-fever is of several types, and not confined to irritation due to pollen. But the basic cause is always a chemical imbalance of the system which makes the mucus membranes abnormally sensitive to irritants.
The treatment should have for aim, therefore, the restoration of the mineral balance of the body which will reduce this abnormal sensitiveness. Vitamin D and calcium should be abundant in the food, and the blood should be kept with a slightly alkaline reaction. The nervous tension of the individual should be reduced through the application of Lunar etheric energies and thought-corrective treatments. The planetary energies of Jupiter should be applied to the stellar structure mapped by Mercury. The upper-octave planets involved should receive their planetary antidotes.

In the falls of 1923, as progressed, with Mercury sextile Sun r, he suffered with hay-fever, a complaint which he had recurrently.
Headache.Birth-chart Constant: May arise from a wide variety of causes, but planets in Aries, and especially affliction in Aries, tend to incline the disease, whatever it may be, to give pain in the head.
Progressed Constant: According to the disease; but aspects to Mars, and especially aspects to planets in Aries.
Stellar Treatment: Headache may be due to afflictions of the nerves, to digestive disturbances, to colds in the head, etc. Therefore, before treatment is given it must be determined which. A neuralgic headaches needs different treatment than does a bilious headache.
In the various types, however, there is nearly always a congestion in the region of the head. And this may be removed through passes from the top of the head downward, and through treating the congested area with the Lunar etheric energies. One of the most satisfactory ways of causing the pain to cease is thus to bring about a redistribution of the etheric energies of the body.
Such reduction of removal of the pain, however, must not be mistaken for healing the condition. The headache is the result of a drastic disturbance somewhere in the body. This should be located through a study of the birth-chart and progressed positions, and the proper planetary energies applied, and the diet recommended, etc., that will remove this discord which the headache is merely reporting.
Chart 273; female. March 29, 1896, 12:15a.m. 122-30W. 38N.
Sun in Aries opposition to the Moon.
Has had headaches since childhood. They are chiefly due to digestive troubles, which in turn are largely due to an undue sensitiveness, as shown by Mercury square to Neptune and trine Uranus. The kidneys also offer difficulties, as shown by the Moon afflicted in Libra and Mars square Uranus. When either or both of these conditions cause trouble, they react quickly in the region of the head, because the stellar cells there, as shown by the Sun in Aries afflicted, are both very active and discordant. Yet when treatment causes the other disturbances to subside the headaches also disappear.
Heart Disease. Birth-chart Constant: An affliction in Leo, or the Sun severely afflicted.
Progressed Constant: A progressed aspect made by the Sun, or a progressed aspect to the planet in Leo; with discordant rallying forces.
Stellar Treatment: It is said that more people die of heart trouble than of any other disease. It occurs in many types, but the above seem to be the constants of all of them. Perhaps each type has some other constant also which may be discovered through additional research. As the heart is the engine which runs the physical machine it is not surprising that it so frequently is the seat of the difficulty which brings death.
In order that fuel can be burned abundantly, there must be an ample supply of thyroxin from the thyroid gland. This also has some regulating power over the hear action. Thyroxin is the secretion which gives energy production. If, due to an afflicted Sun, there is ever activity of the thyroid glands, the person is a live-wire, but may burn up his energy too fast, and his heart becomes weakened due to the excessive strain. For sustained energy, there must also be the secretion of still another gland, the front pituitary. If the Sun is afflicted, the supply of this hormone also is affected. The individual can keep up his customary speed so long as both thyroids and front pituitary furnish ample secretions. But if the thyroids continue active and the front pituitary weakens, the individual breaks; not having endurance. If the thyroid weakens, the fuel consumption becomes inadequate to his need, and, vitality lowered, he becomes open to infection. Inflammation of the tissues of the heart may then take place, or valvular weakness develop, or angina pectoris, or what-not, depending upon the afflicting planets in the birth-chart and by progression.
Hard work of itself does not commonly place too great a demand on the supply of thyroxin and front pituitary secretion. These glands do, however, and especially the thyroids, respond with great sensitiveness to emotional conditions. The feeling of hurry, of strain, or the forcing oneself to continue after one feels exhausted, all tend unduly to deplete these hormones. It is not so much the work is accomplished, as it is the feeling of hurry, strain and high-pressure, which, through glandular depletion of over stimulation, causes so many Americans to suffer from heart trouble. Worry, in particular, reacts immediately upon the glands which are responsible for normal heart action.
Chemical imbalance from improper foods, digestive troubles, and nervous irritation may place a strain upon the heart. But whatever the strain is, is should be removed. The diet should contain iodine, manganese and Vitamin B. The heart itself should be given either the Lunar etheric energies to sooth, or Solar etheric energies to stimulate, as the case calls for. And the afflictions in Leo, as well as the planets mapping the afflictions to the Sun, should receive in the stellar structure where located, the planetary energies which are their antidotes.

Hernia. Will be considered in an Astrological Report.
Hiccups. Will be considered in an Astrological Report.
High Blood Pressure.A prominent Sun and a heavily afflicted Saturn, or a prominent Sun and a heavily afflicted Mars.
Progressed Constant: A progressed aspect of the Sun, or a progressed aspect to Mars.
Stellar Treatment: High blood pressure is due to an imbalance which through the composition of the blood stream affects the walls of the blood vessels. In the type indicated by a heavy affliction to Saturn, calcium and certain other minerals are net properly handled and the walls of the blood vessels, due to deposits of calcium and these minerals, lose their elasticity and offer resistance to the passage of the blood through them. This resistance raises the pressure.
This Saturn type should receive the treatment advocated under Arteriosclerosis.
The other type, which is the more common, is due to irritants in the blood stream, combined with heart stimulation by excessive secretion of thyroxin. Meat, and other acid forming foods contribute to this type, as the blood is always acid with various toxins. These act as irritants on the walls of the blood vessels, causing them to contract and offer resistance to passage of the blood through them.
The diet, therefore, should be such as to restore the blood stream to a slightly alkaline reaction, and thus cease irritating the walls of the blood vessels. This can not be accomplished during a fast, as the bodily fuels consumed are sure to leave and acid residue. Vegetables and fruit juices leave an alkaline residue in the blood, and are to be recommended.
The thoughts and emotions of such individuals have a driving quality, or are irritating, thus calling out thyroxin and adrenalin, whipping the heart to action, and this increases the pressure. Therefore, thinking should be cultivated which is relaxing and peaceful.
The dynamic stellar structure mapped by the Sun should be given Lunar etheric energies and Lunar planetary energies. And Mars or Saturn, as the case may be, should receive, where located in the birth-chart, the planetary which are the antidote.

Infantile Paralysis. Birth-chart Constant: Sun, Saturn and Uranus prominent and more or less afflicted.
Progressed Constant: Afflictions of Sun and usually also of Saturn or Uranus.
Stellar Treatment: The Sun, through Leo, rules the spine. Infantile paralysis is a form of inflammation of a portion of the spinal cord. The most common birthchart constant is Sun square Saturn. But Uranus also is always a prominent influence in the chart. All three of these planets have an influence upon the secretion of the front pituitary gland; and there is undoubtedly an imbalance due to its action at the time of the disease.
The front pituitary gland is not merely the gland of sustained energy, but also of sustained activity of mental output. The front pituitary influence which is present at the time of infantile paralysis very frequently leads to unusual front pituitary activity during the balances of the life, with terrific brain activity and sustained mental output. Quite a number of the greatest brain workers in the world are among those who earlier in life suffered from this disease.
Everything should be done to check the spread and reduce the inflammation where it occurs in the spine. Lunar etheric energies are a benefit in this respect. Sun,
4. Saturn and Uranus should receive their planetary antidotes where mapped in the birthchart. The diet also should be such as to favor all three of these planets.

Saturn square Sun, Uranus conjunction Asc.
In the summer of 1821, as progressed, with Sun semi-square Saturn r, and Sun semi-square Venus r, he had infantile paralysis.
Infection.Birth-chart Constant: Mars prominent and usually afflicted.
Progressed Constant: A progressed aspect, usually an affliction to Mars.
Stellar Treatment: Infection takes place when the chemicals of the body with which it wages warfare are inadequate to oust invading foes. Both adrenalin and thyroxin are anti-toxic in their properties and alone can repel mild invasion; but the heavy chemical battery for destroying bacteria and toxins is intercortin, chiefly under the influence of the planet Mars.
The influence of the negative planets may reduce the output of the chemicals used in warfare against invading forces, but there is also a Mars influence which still further reduces the intercortin supply when infection takes place. Mars, through stimulating into activity the stellar cells having to do with combat, attracts the invaders; but if there is sufficient discord, either from the Mars stellar cells or from rallying forces, the chemical supply is not adequate to the demands placed upon it.
Diet, antiseptics and hygienic measures should be used as the condition dictates. The diet should favor Mars, and lunar planetary energies should be applied to the part of the body mapped by Mars, and Lunar etheric energies should be applied to the infected part.

March 18, 1926, as progressed, with Sun sextile Mars r, and Sun semi-square Uranus p as a rallying force, died from blood poison caused by picking a carbuncle with the point of a dirty compass.
Inflammatory Rheumatism. Birth-chart Constant: Mars and Saturn prominent and afflicted.
Progressed Constant: A progressed affliction to Mars.
Stellar Treatment: Deficiencies in the diet, as shown by Saturn, and inability of the intercortin, adrenalin, and often the kidneys, to take care of the acids in the blood stream lead to this disease. The immediate stimulating cause is often exposure to cold and dampness.
The diet should supply the deficiencies indicated by Saturn, and should be such as to place as little strain on the Mars endocrine secretions and the kidneys as possible. Lunar etheric energies may be used to reduce the inflammation. Lunar planetary energies should be applied to the stellar structure mapped by Mars, and Venus planetary energies should be applied to the stellar structure mapped by Saturn.

Saturn opposition Sun, Mars trine Moon , square Pluto.
In 1930, as progressed, with Mars conjunction Sun r, and Mars semi-square Venus r, he had inflammatory rheumatism.
Influenza. Birth-chart Constant: Negative planets prominent , or a negative planet severely afflicted.
Progressed Constant: A progressed aspects to Mars.
Stellar Treatment: It is significant of the progressed constant that the great epidemic of Spanish Influenza took place during the world war while the thoughts of the world were occupied with Mars thoughts.
Negative thinking, inadequacies in the diet, exposure, and other things which loser the resistance should be avoided during the prevalence of this disease. It takes hold only when the body and its energies become negative. Positive thinking, Solar etheric energies, and the application of Solar planetary energies to the responsible negative planets, are the first steps to take.
The Mars influence, which is present by progression, indicates a lowering of the output of the chemicals necessary to repel invasion and to neutralize the acidity of the blood stream. Food should be partaken of sparingly or not at all, except for fruit juices which build up an alkaline reaction in the blood stream. And as exercise or exertion tends to increase the toxins in the blood, rest is essential. The stellar structures mapped by Mars should be given Lunar planetary energies to restore normal activity to the adrenal glands.

Insanity.Birth chart Constant: Severely afflicted Mercury of Moon; usually both. Progressed Constant: Heavy progressed afflictions, especially if Mercury or the Moon are afflicted, or even aspected, by progression. Stellar Treatment: Insanity takes many different forms, and the factors other than Moon or Mercury afflictions vary with the form. In some cases the structure of the brain is affected, but in most kinds there is only dislocation of the mental factors. The effort should be made reharmonize these, and to harmonize both the stellar structure mapped by the Moon and the stellar structure mapped by Mercury. Planetary energies which are their antidotes should be applied to thee stellar structure mapped by the discordant progressed planets. The thought-treatment of the solar plexus is especially important in most forms.

Insomnia. Will be considered in an Astrological Report.
Intemperance. Will be considered in an Astrological Report.
Itch. Will be considered in an Astrological Report.
Jaundice. Birth-chart Constant: Either an upper-octave planet prominent and Jupiter afflicted; or Mars and Saturn prominent and in aspect to each other, usually as an affliction.
Progressed Constant: Either a progressed aspect, usually an affliction, to Jupiter or to Saturn.
Stellar Treatment: Jaundice may arise from the poisons of malaria, typhoid, typhus, yellow fever, and various minerals, from emotional strain, from catarrah of the stomach and intestine, or from gall-stones.
The more common form is the clogging of the bile duct, either through catarrah from the digestive tract spreading to it, or through the formation of gall-stones. The bile, thus retained, permeates the system giving the characteristic yellowness of eyes and skin.
The disease which gives rise to the jaundice, therefore, should receive its appropriate treatment. The birth-chart constant and progressed constant will reveal which type of difficulty is present. When the primary disease is removed the jaundice will disappear.

In January, 1931, as progressed, with Asc. opposite Jupiter r, Mercury semi-square Saturn r, Venus square Saturn r and Sun semi-square Saturn r, she had a sudden attack of jaundice.
Jealousy. Will be considered in an Astrological Report.
Joint Troubles. Will be considered in an Astrological Report.
Kidney Diseases. Birth-chart Constant: Planets afflicted in Libra or Scorpio. or Venus or Mars severely afflicted.
Progressed Constant: An aspect, usually an affliction, to the planet in Libra or Scorpio, or to Venus or Mars.
Stellar Treatment: The diet should favor Venus and Mars, and the planet in Libra or Scorpio; and Venus or Mars, should be treated with their planetary antidotes.
As there are a number of types of diseases of the kidneys, the treatment should be that advocated for the particular diseasesee Apoplexy, Bright's Disease, Kidneystone, etc. With variations to suit the planetary conditions shown, what has been said under these headings indicates the treatment for types not shown. Proteins and especially the nuclear protein of meats are particularly difficult for the kidneys to handle.
Chart 251, with Saturn afflicted in Libra, shows kidney trouble which resulted, under Mars opposition Neptune by progression, in apoplexy.
Chart 247, with Jupiter in Libra opposition Saturn and square Uranus, shows kidney trouble resulting in lack of ability to control urination.
Chart 265, with Mercury in Libra inconjunct Saturn, Venus square Saturn, and Mars square Sun, shows kidney trouble resulting, under progressed Sun sesqui-square Mars r, and Mercury square Venus r, in Bright's Disease.
Chart 290, with Sun in Libra opposition Jupiter, and Saturn square Moon and trine Sun in Libra, shows conditions resulting, under progressions Mercury semi-square Mars p, and Venus semi-square Sun r, in kidney-stone.
Kidney-stone (Gravel in Kidney).Birth-chart Constant: Planets afflicted in Libra, or less frequently in Scorpio, or Venus or Mars severely afflicted, at the same time Saturn is prominent and aspects the planet in Libra or Scorpio, or Venus or Mars.
Progressed Constant: Progressed aspect, usually an affliction, to the planet in Libra or Scorpio, or to Venus or Mars.
Stellar Treatment: In addition to the discords shown in other forms of kidney disturbance, there is a prominent Saturnine influence which causes urinary calculi small concretions and brick-dust sedimentpassed in the urine, and sharp pains in the kidneys, especially after severe jolting.
The treatment should be the same as for the other forms of kidney disease, and in addition an effort should be made to restore the proper balance to the blood stream through a diet containing mineral salts and rich in vitamins.
The sediment is present due to the action of Saturn, and the blood stream must be restored to its proper alkalinity to prevent further deposits. The planetary antidotes should be applied to the planet in Libra or Scorpio, and to the Venus or Mars stellar structure. Venus planetary energies should be applied to the Saturn dynamic stellar structure, and Solar etheric energies should be applied to the region afflicted.

Lepresy.Birth-chart Constant: Negative planets, especially Neptune and Saturn, prominent and afflicted.
Progressed Constant: An aspect, usually an affliction, to Mars.
Stellar Treatment: This is an infectious disease limited to certain areas. Negative conditions in the birth-chart indicating poor elimination and lack of vigor are predisposing conditions. Such persons, therefore, if in danger of contact with the disease, should use the diet and thinking suitable to overcome this negative quality.
As in other forms of infection, when it occurs, there is an aspect to Mars. This attracts the invading bacillus leprae, and at the same time lowers the output of intercortin with which to chemically destroy the invading herds. When in danger of contacting the disease, therefore, the diet, thoughts, and stellar treatment should be such as also to give a good reserve of intercortin, adrenalin and thyroxin. As with colds, influenza, tuberculosis, etc., it is improbable that the invading force which causes the disease can gain a hold except the physical soil in the body is foul and its vitality and chemical resistance lowered.

Lumbago.Birth-chart Constant: Afflictions in Libra; less commonly severe afflictions to Venus; at the same time the chart otherwise shows the constants either for common cold or rheumatism.
Progressed Constant: Same as for common cold or rheumatism.
Stellar Treatment: Lumbago is either a cold, or rheumatism, which because of discords in Libra, settles in the back in the region of the kidneys. The treatment therefore should be for the disease of which the lumbago is the result, with the addition of applying the planetary antidote to the planet in Libra, and applying Solar etheric energies abundantly to the region where the stiffness and pain are located.

Lung Disease.See Bronchitis, Tuberculosis, etc.
Lying. Will be considered in an Astrological Report.
Malaria.Birth-chart Constant: Negative planets prominent; Mars Prominent and afflicted.
Progressed Constant: Any aspect, especially an affliction, to Mars.
Stellar Treatment: Malaria occurs in three chief types, and is due to the presence in the red blood corpuscles of animal parasites of the genus Plasomodium. In their adult form they live in the tissues of the Anopheles mosquito. The young parasites destroy the human blood cells, liberating in the blood plasma an immense number of small spores, which release coincides with the chills and fever. The fever, of course, is the effort of the chemicals secreted by the glands to destroy the spores and the other poisons thus liberated.
Every effort should be made, through diet, thinking and application of planetary energies, to overcome the negative conditions shown and build up energy and vital power. Solar etheric energies are very helpful in this respect.
There is also a Mars condition to correct, and this may be done by diet, suitable to an afflicted Mars, by the application of Lunar planetary energies to the dynamic stellar structure maped by Mars, and by the application of Lunar etheric energies to subdue the fever when present, and Solar etheric energies to counteract the chilling when this phase is operative.
As the red blood corpuscles are being destroyed, the system needs plenty of iron, copper, manganese and a variety of proteins. Also, the adrenalin glands should be favored as much as possible, avoiding strain and excitement, to the end of strengthening the supply of intercortin and adrenalin with which the parasites and their products can be fought.

Marriage difficulties.Birth-chart Constant: Ruler of the 7th afflicted, or Venus afflicted, or ruler opposite sex (Sun or Moon as case may be) afflicted.
Progressed Constant: Aspects, especially afflictions, to the ruler of the 7th. to Venus, or to the ruler of the opposite sex (Sun or Moon as the case may be).
Stellar Treatment: In B. of L. Astrological Report No. 9, the birth-charts of 100 people who separated or divorced, and the progressed aspects, both at the time of marriage and the time of divorce, are analyzed. There is always an aspect to the ruler of the 7th when separation occurs, and when there is a legal divorce granted also a progressed aspect to the ruler of the 9th. People who marry when their progressed aspects are severely afflicted separate far more frequently that those (or even the same person) who marry when the progressed aspects are harmonious.
The planetary energies which are the antidote of the planets most afflicting the marriage relations, as shown by the three factors mentioned, should be applied to the stellar structure mapped by the afflicting planet. The educational factor, the thought treatment of the solar plexus, and the stellar treatment in general should have for an end the endowment of the stellar structure mapped by the three factors mentioned with strength and harmony.

Mastoid Troubles.Birth-chart Constant: Saturn and Moon afflicted an in aspect to each other; usually an affliction to each other.
Progressed Constant: Saturn or Moon afflicted.
Stellar Treatment: Saturn-Moon afflictions not only tend to affect the ears, but also frequently cause difficulties in the adjoining mastoid region. Mastoid operations are often restored to, in the endeavor to receive the condition, and when such operations are performed there is sure to be progressed aspect Mars,. This not merely indicates the operations, but that the chemical imbalance of the blood due to the action of Mars on the intercortin and adrenalin supply has augmented inflammation and perhaps permitted infection of the region.
The basic difficulty, however, is due to deficiencies attracted by Saturn and improper quantity or distribution of the Lunar etheric energies of the Moon. The diet, therefore, should be such as to overcome the Saturn deficiencies. Venus planetary energies should be applied to the stellar structure mapped by Saturn, and Mars planetary energies should be applied to the stellar structure mapped by the Moon. As these two planets are negative, a more positive and vital condition of the body should be encouraged through the application of Solar astral energies also to the stellar structures mapped by Saturn and the Moon, and by the application of Solar etheric energies where the chart indicates they will help meet in this respect.
If there is severe inflammation, as when there is also a Mars progressed affliction, it may be soothed with Lunar etheric energies . But when the condition is largely negative, Solar etheric energies may be used to vitalize and stimulate to a healthy condition.

Moon square Saturn.
In 1930, as Sun came inconjunct Saturn p and Moon conjunction Saturn r, serious mastoid difficulties developed and in December, 1930, as progressed, with Sun inconjunct Saturn p and Mercury square Mars p, was in the hospital more than two weeks and a mastoid operation was performed.
Measles.Birth-chart Constant: Negative planets prominent and Mars prominent.
Progressed Constant: An aspect, usually an affliction, to a negative planet; and commonly, but not always, also aspect to Mars.
Stellar Treatment: The negative influences in the birth-chart and the negative condition induced by the progressed aspect lowers the output of chemicals necessary to resist invasion. The Solar etheric energies also are either deficient or lacking in vigor. And if, in addition, a Mars aspect still further upsets the chemical balance, it makes the assault of the attacking disease more successful.
Mineral salts, vitamins, iron, copper and other builders of positive energy should be included in the food. Solar astral energies and Solar etheric energies should be applied to the region mapped by the negative planets in the birth-chart. Cooling drinks are beneficial; but a too stimulating diet is harmful. Irritation of the skin should be prevented, and as indicated by the astrological constants which show a negative condition and great sensitiveness to cold, there should be protection from draughts and anything which may cause chilling. Lunar etheric energies may be used to reduce the fever. Good nursing is very effective in this disease.
